zoom Sets the initial zoom level. Higher numbers zoom in further. Defaults to 4 when lat and lng are provided. 4 (country), 8 (region), 12 (city)

Note on apostrophes: Men's must be URL-encoded as Men%27s and Women's as Women%27s in the URL. Most website builders handle this automatically, but if you are editing HTML by hand, use the encoded form.

Smaller embeds

Not everyone wants a whole map. Each of these is a small page you drop in an iframe. They render on our side from the live list, so they never go stale, and none of them carries contact details.

Councils, local papers and community groups: every city page ends with a paragraph you can paste as it is, the map already filtered to that city, and the city badge. Journalists are welcome to quote any of it and to use the open data below.

Councils, regions and chat apps

Two more things that need no code at all:

The map itself can be embedded in another language with lang= (for example lang=fr); the visitor's browser language is used otherwise.

Questions or help

If you need a configuration that is not covered here, or something does not look right in your embed, email Michael Josem at michael@michaeljosem.com. Feature requests and suggestions are also welcome.

Use the data

Prefer to draw your own map, run the numbers, or write about the state of the game? The whole approved list is available as open data, refreshed hourly:

https://netballclubs.com/api/clubs.geojson

It is a standard GeoJSON FeatureCollection, so it drops straight into QGIS, Leaflet, Mapbox, Google My Maps, Observable and most spreadsheet tools. Each club carries its name, types, city and country, venue, training and match days, standard, whether it is taking players, whether beginners and drop-ins are welcome, its website, and a link to its page here. Contact details are not included; those stay on the club pages where a club can correct them.
